Middlesex School seeks a Leadership Giving Officer to build a strong base of individual donors to support the ambitious and strategic growth of the organization. The LGO will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual prospects with an estimated capacity to support Middlesex with gifts of $100,000 or more. Key to success in this role will be identifying and building relationships with new prospects as well as strengthening relationships with existing donors to maximize philanthropic support. In addition to soliciting annual major gifts, the LGO will support efforts to solicit transformational campaign gifts, work with reunion classes on leadership gifts, and engage in efforts related to both Alumni and Parent giving.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in managing donor relationships with a proven track record of successfully closing five-figure or greater gifts. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to create and foster excellent relationships between donors and an organization are essential to be successful in this role. Comfort with solicitation and a commitment to Middlesex’s mission and values are key. This position requires the ability to travel up to 50%, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
